We all know someone in our lives who has experienced a fall at some point. These falls can result in emergency room visits, emotional trauma, broken bones, or hospitalizations.

For individuals presenting with even mild hearing loss, the risk of falling triples (Lin, 2013). Untreated hearing loss can decrease spatial awareness, resulting in falls.

It’s important to understand the relationship between hearing loss and balance; therefore, it’s important to have an audiologist on your healthcare team!
